Writing lessons

Through a meeting, I came across the page of one of our English professors. He’s got a list of terms that should not be used in academic papers.

He teaches Shakespeare, so I don’t know how much of the list is meant to parallel the new, imagined and naughty words that Shakespeare incorporated into his writings.

  1. It’s funny, but also sad that Shakespeare got to trot out words that he dreamed up or modified from other forms, but today’s undergraduates’ coinages and neologisms are restricted to text messages and less formal avenues!
